Another excellent musical comedy. It has everything – fun, great music, wit and charm. It includes the well-known song “Man müsste Klavier spielen können”. I would agree that there is an element of male chauvinism and sexism in this film.
For the first time in history, the stage singer Loni Carell and the film tenor Will Hollers have been brought together in a joint performance. Not only are they superb artists; they understand each other very well. Too bad there's a little too much professional jealousy going on there though: both are used to being the prima donna and want all the attention from the audience for his or herself. Thus, there is constant conflict and jealousy. Their managers, too, are deeply involved in this professional falling-out, as each especially wants what is best for their charge. And if the best means that the two of them should get married, what's the harm in that? Uh huh ...
