Outstanding comedy. Satire on novo rich. Excellent cast and casting. Detlef Sierck’s debut. His departure to Hollywood was a major loss to the German cinema.
"April, April!" (1935), directed by Douglas Sirk, is a screwball farce about a social climber and a prince's mistaken order, resulting in a series of hilarious misunderstandings and deceptions.
The film revolves around a noodle factory owner (Erhard Siedel), who's trying to climb the social ladder, and a prince who places an order that sets off a chain of events involving mistaken identities, comedic situations, and a bit of slapstick.
