Outstanding special effects. British actions portrayed in the movie resemble their activities in Persia in 1829 that led to the revolt and murder of the Russian ambassador Griboyedov.
Anschlag auf Baku (or Attack on Baku) is a 1942 German anti-British propaganda film set in 1919, depicting British agents attempting to gain control of the vital Baku oil fields through destabilization tactics. The story follows German security officer Hans Romberg as he works with local forces to foil the British plot and drive them out of the region after they incite infighting between Christian and Muslim populations.
