"Die Warschauer Zitadelle" (The Citadel of Warsaw) is a 1937 German film set in 19th-century Poland under Russian rule, where a patriotic student, Konrad, who has recently been released from prison for revolutionary activities, finds himself at odds with other revolutionaries who consider him a coward. He falls in love with a dancer named Vera, a secret agent for the Russians. The film explores themes of patriotism and the struggle against oppression.
