This documentary gives you a terrific look at German cinema during this period. It looks like the German filmmakers, not the Hollywood’s, were the pioneers in cinematography. At the end of the film there is a list of so- called giants of cinematography who left Germany because of Hitler. Most of them have not achieved anything in Hollywood and died unknown.
