"Es fing so harmlos an" (It All Started So Innocently) is a 1944 German comedy directed by Theo Lingen. The plot revolves around a missing folder containing important international secret documents. Two young diplomats decide to play detective to recover the briefcase. In doing so, they stumble into embarrassing situations and comedic entanglements. Eventually, they not only find the documents but also discover love. Most of the action takes place in a luxurious hotel.
