My Heart Calls You (includes songs lyrics)
"Mein Herz ruft nach dir" (1934), also known as "My Heart Calls You" in English, is a German musical film directed by Carmine Gallone. The film tells the story of an opera troupe traveling to Monte Carlo, where the tenor, Mario Delmonti, discovers a stowaway, Carla, and helps her return to Europe. Arriving in Monte Carlo they find the opera director hard to convince. Confident in Mario's exceptional voice they don't give up, even if they have to perform a parallel Tosca in front of the Opera house. The film features performances by Jan Kiepura and Mártha Eggerth. It is known for its parallels to the Marx Brothers' "A Night at the Opera," including the stowaway and rival opera companies.
