Der Stammbaum des Dr. Pistorius (The Family Tree of Dr. Pistorius ) is a 1939 German feature film directed by Karl Georg Külb based on the novel of the same name by Waldemar Reichardt. The movie follows the story of Dr. Pistorius, a petit-bourgeois character who is quite sure that he's descended from nobility. But eventually, he comes to the surprising conclusion that the worth of a person is based on his personality and not his feudal family tree. He experiences surprising events that lead him to this realization.
