Der Zigeunerbaron (The Gypsy Baron) is a musical comedy directed by Karl Hartl and produced by UFA. Starring Anton Walbrook as Sándor Barinkay and Hansi Knoteck as Saffi, the film follows an exiled nobleman who returns to Hungary to reclaim his land from a wealthy pig merchant with a young, unmarried daughter, aided by a band of gypsies and falling in love with a beautiful, mysterious young woman.
