Renowned artist Truxa falls from the high wire during a daring performance and is no longer able to perform. He gives his stage name to a young man - Husen. When Truxa (Husen) appears at a circus show in the Winter Garden in Berlin for the first time, he meets the dancer Yester, Truxa's lover. He also meets the scheming illusionist Garvin, who also loves Yester.
