Victor and Viktoria (digital quality)
Victor and Victoria (1933) is a German musical comedy about a struggling music hall singer, Susanne, who becomes a sensation by performing as a man, "Monsieur Victoria," in drag with the help of down-on-his-luck thespian Viktor. The film, known for its playful exploration of gender roles and the complexities it brings to the performers' personal lives, was produced in pre-National Socialist Germany and is the original source for the 1982 movie Victor/Victoria and the 1995 Broadway musical.
