An ideal example of a light comedy in the genre of “Viennese film”. The plot is not overloaded with unnecessary details and is based on the interaction of the two main characters. At the same time, the excellent acting of the entire cast and the witty text prevents this unpretentious comedy from seeming banal.

Karl Hofeneder is the owner of a renowned Viennese dance school, in which the daughters and sons of respected families are instructed. One day, Hofeneder finds out, that Georges Roublee has opened a dance school in the same district and is in competition with him. Twenty two years earlier, Roublee and Hofeneder were friends and fell in love with the same woman. Hofeneder lost out in the affair and has been angry with Roublee since. Roublee’s daughter Sylvia is secretly taking lessons from Hofeneder. Because of her poor academic performance, her father refuses to allow her dancing lessons in his school. Hoefeneder doesn’t know his new student is Roublee’s daughter.
