Even on holiday, Inspector Eyck has no peace: a murder takes place in a winter sports hotel, and Eyck becomes involved in solving it. The investigation turns out to be difficult: the main suspect, a crime writer, has an alibi, and when the inspector falls in love with another suspect, he himself becomes the target of an international gang of jewel thieves.
