An apologetic film designed to curry favor with the new regime.

In jenen Tagen (released internationally as In Those Days or Seven Journeys) is a 1947 German drama film directed by Helmut Käutner. It is celebrated as one of the earliest and most significant "Rubble films" (Trümmerfilme) produced in Germany immediately following the destruction of World War II.
The film utilizes a highly unique narrative device: the story is narrated by a car. The framing of the movie begins in 1947 Berlin, where a severely battered car is sitting in a scrapyard being dismantled for parts by two mechanics. As it is taken apart, the car reminisces about its 12-year lifespan—noting that it was built in 1933 (the year Adolf Hitler took power) and effectively destroyed by the end of the Third Reich in 1945. Through this perspective, the film unrolls as an episodic anthology comprising seven different chapters, each focusing on the distinct lives, struggles, and moral dilemmas of the car's changing owners.
