Geheimnis Tibet (Secret Tibet) refers to the 1938–1939 German scientific expedition to Tibet led by zoologist and SS officer Ernst Schäfer. Funded by the Ahnenerbe, it aimed to study the region's culture, biology, and geography. The expedition documented Tibetan life, conducted anthropological measurements, and established contact with local leaders, amidst the geopolitical tensions of the era.
