Der zerbrochene Krug (The Broken Jug) is a historical comedy directed by Gustav Ucicky and starring Emil Jannings. Based on the classic play by Heinrich von Kleist, the film follows a corrupt, bumbling village judge who desperately attempts to cover up his own drunken midnight crime by holding a trial under inspecting judge supervision.
