Axel von Ambesser is a freshly married young heir who on a trip to Tunisia meets a young girl (Charlotte Schellhorn) who takes his love vows very seriously though they weren't meant that way. She drops in on him at the ship and when the wife (Anneliese Uhlig) appears, problems arise. Arriving in Bremen and visiting the rich uncle (Heinrich George) misunderstandings ensue who is Ambesser's wife while he tries to win his real one back.
